About MACC

The MACC is a member of the National Network for Advanced Computing, which aims to support the academic and business communities in the High-Performance Computing (HPC) field. The main goal is to ensure the community’s access to computational resources capable of promoting innovation in all areas of the science and business domain, thus accelerating the finding and development of new products or scientific breakthroughs.

Currently, MACC is offering the following positions:


Sysadmin


  • Installation, maintenance, upgrades and issue resolution related to MACC's advanced computing infrastructure;

  • Configuration and administration of the resource and workload management systems (Slurm or others);

  • User support;

  • Support and participation in technical meetings related to projects where MACC is involved.


User/application support


  • Improving scalability and performance of high-performance scientific applications and tools;

  • Configuration, administration and use of tools for capturing, visualizing, debugging and parallel applications performance reporting;

  • Choice and installation of modules for optimization of applications for specific architectures (ARM, GPU, ...)


Research


MACC is also a research and development centre with national and international projects committed to improving HPC technologies and tools for scientific discovery (more details on our Research Projects). We are looking for Master's and PhD students to join the following teams/projects:


  • Energy-efficient HPC scheduling and applications;

  • Software-defined storage (SDS) optimizations for HPC and AI workloads;

  • HPC, Big Data, and AI Convergence Towards Exascale;

  • In-situ visualization and computational steering;

  • Scalable data processing.
