The Deucalion supercomputer was presented at the LNCC’s Summer School

MACC’s director, Rui Carlos Oliveira, was invited to give a lecture about the Deucalion Supercomputer at the LNCC’s HPC Summer School “Escola Supercomputador Santos Dumont”. The School took place between January 16-24, 2023, remotely.

The focus of the Deucalion session was on the efforts to make this supercomputer one of the most power efficient facilities building an end-to-end, from the user to the grid, power management system. During the session, Rui Carlos Oliveira also presented the current Portuguese HPC infrastructure landscape in the context of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.

This School, which was part of the LNCC’s Summer Program, aimed to provide mini-courses and talks related to programming on high-performance computers, such as parallel programming models, profiling tools, and libraries for developing optimised parallel algorithms for the Santo Dumont Supercomputer user community and the high-performance computing programming community.

You can watch the session “Deucalion: Thinking beyond speed” here.
