MACC researchers visit UTAD and met with students from the informatics field

What is advanced computing and how useful can it be?

These questions were answered by MACC researchers last week when they visited Trás-os-Montes and Douro University. There, they met with students but also researchers and teachers from the informatics field. During the first talk, with the students, they shared their knowledge about advanced computing with an introduction to HPC, presented use cases, and introduced Minho Advanced Computing Center.

For the talk with researchers and teachers, they focused on what advanced computing is and its main challenges, presented MACC, and shared resources related to advanced computing on National Advanced Computing Network (RNCA), and EuroHPC.
